{"id":576,"date":"2012-02-19T12:05:30","date_gmt":"2012-02-19T01:35:30","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.fsfsa.org.au\/new\/?page_id=576"},"modified":"2024-09-12T11:21:13","modified_gmt":"2024-09-12T01:51:13","slug":"member-benefits","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/fsfsa.org.au\/?page_id=576","title":{"rendered":"Members"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><\/h2>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\">\u00a0<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff; font-size: xx-large;\"><strong>Benefits Available to all Full Members<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/h2>\n<div class=\"grid_4 alpha\">\n<h3><\/h3>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #800080;\">Hospital Excess Benefit<\/span><\/h3>\nBased on the continued Membership of the Fund and with one of the Fund\u2019s approved Health Insurers\u00a0 &#8211; <strong>Health Partners<\/strong> and <strong>BUPA Australia,<\/strong> using an approved method of contributing \u2013 The Fund will meet all or part of the Hospital Excess which may be incurred for Hospital accommodation costs.\u00a0 The benefit paid by the Fund will be dependent upon the then current level of benefit approved by the Management from time to time.\n\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"grid_4 alpha\">\n<h3><\/h3>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #800080;\">Death Benefit<\/span><\/h3>\nThis benefit which is currently $5,000 may be payable in respect to the death of a Member or his\/her spouse.\u00a0 In the case of the death of a Member the payment may be made to the Spouse, the Nominated dependent, or the Legal Personal Representative of the Member as the Management may decide.\u00a0 In the case of the death of the spouse of a Member, the payment is made to the Member.\u00a0 A payment is relation to the spouse shall be a once only benefit during the life of the Member.\n\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"grid_4 alpha\">\n<h3><\/h3>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #800080;\">Funeral Benefit<\/span><\/h3>\nThis benefit which is currently $5,000 may be payable in respect to the death of a member or his\/her spouse.\u00a0 In the case of the death of a member the payment may be made to the spouse , the Nominated dependent, or the Legal Personal Representative of the Member as the Management may decide.\u00a0 A benefit of $4500 may be paid in the case of the death of a dependent child (to the age of 21 years of age) of the Full Member and may be paid to the Member.\u00a0 A payment in relation to the spouse shall be a once only benefit during the life of the Member.\n\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"grid_4 alpha\">\n<h3><\/h3>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #800080;\">Sickness and Accident Benefit<\/span><\/h3>\nFull members may under some circumstances be entitled to Sickness benefits from the Fire Service Fund.\u00a0 To qualify, the full Member must have exhausted any accumulated sick leave. On application, a fortnightly payment of $300.00 may be approved.\u00a0 Due to the Fund\u2019s status with Centrelink as a \u201cFriendly Society\u201d the payment of this benefit by the Fund is exempt from the Income Test Assessment applied by Centrelink.\u00a0 Additional financial assistance may be available under this benefit.\n\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"grid_4 alpha\">\n<h3><\/h3>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #800080;\">Wills \/ Power of Attorney Benefit<\/span><\/h3>\nThis benefit is payable upon a Member and\/or Member\u2019s spouse have their Wills, Enduring and\/or Medical Powers of Attorney drawn up or reviewed.\u00a0 This benefit is currently at $100.00 per document to the maximum of $200.00 per Member.\u00a0 This benefit is also payable each five years but in the event of a will needing to be changed or updated by a surviving partner, this benefit is payable immediately.\n\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"grid_4 alpha\">\n<h3><\/h3>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #800080;\">Ambulance Benefit<\/span><\/h3>\nIn the case of Members who are a Member of SA Ambulance Service\u2019s (SAAS) subscription scheme, upon proof of utilization of SAAS service, be entitled to refund of the SAAS subscription for that particular year in which SAAS service was utilized.\n<h3><\/h3>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #800080; font-size: large;\">Skin Scan<\/span><\/h3>\nThis benefit is payable upon a Member or Member\u2019s spouse having a skin scan provided by a recognised provider (skin clinic\/dermatologist).
